Need some help
Took 14 grand Cherokee with exhaust and cold air intake. Turning off the cylinder on demand thing - to a tuner who has done many jeeps, dodge,gm large and small build. He did several flashes today tuning the jeep with no issues. Did the final drive and came back. Called me to come get and then he reread the message about an evap light I had been getting that I text him after I dropped it off. Went back out to fix the evap and upload a tune one more time. Turned on key. Hooked up hp went to connect and it failed. Says connected but doesn?t say a specific vehicle and the rom jumped around like 1000-16000. And temps is either 100 Ian or 419.
When you go into the look at the trans or engine all the engine stuff is missing. Says no dt?s. Will not write or read just fails. Everything powers up like it would start but now it gives service everything. Service air suspension. Service airbag. Service transmission. Service 4x4. Check voltage it will say 13v but turn off key and on it will say 8v that time. Before dash would say press brake and press start. Now it says press clutch and press start. No clutch lol. Every light is on on the dash. He has never seen this nor had it happen to him. He messed with it for several hours.
He had to leave and make a hour or so drive
Home and won?t be back till middle of this week. I am going to go buy a new battery and take and replace it and check all fuses in morning. Watching him I seen it fault when trying to read and or write and not show what it was connected to. Several times it would state it was unlicensed.
Any ideas on what to do next. He pulled a log for errors and codes I think and sending that to hp but I know won?t get anything back till next week sometime.
It?s like it?s lost all communication to the engine ecm somehow. Just looking for next steps. Going to take my laptop and hp tubers tomorrow to see if the new battery might correct a voltage issue and low me to read or even connect correctly. Didn?t have any dim lights and heights worked. Dash was bright and so forth. It?s very odd.
Thanks.
