14 grand Cherokee 5.7 no com, Failed all writes or reads, no start after tune.

    Need some help
Took 14 grand Cherokee with exhaust and cold air intake. Turning off the cylinder on demand thing - to a tuner who has done many jeeps, dodge,gm large and small build. He did several flashes today tuning the jeep with no issues. Did the final drive and came back. Called me to come get and then he reread the message about an evap light I had been getting that I text him after I dropped it off. Went back out to fix the evap and upload a tune one more time. Turned on key. Hooked up hp went to connect and it failed. Says connected but doesn?t say a specific vehicle and the rom jumped around like 1000-16000. And temps is either 100 Ian or 419.
When you go into the look at the trans or engine all the engine stuff is missing. Says no dt?s. Will not write or read just fails. Everything powers up like it would start but now it gives service everything. Service air suspension. Service airbag. Service transmission. Service 4x4. Check voltage it will say 13v but turn off key and on it will say 8v that time. Before dash would say press brake and press start. Now it says press clutch and press start. No clutch lol. Every light is on on the dash. He has never seen this nor had it happen to him. He messed with it for several hours.
He had to leave and make a hour or so drive
Home and won?t be back till middle of this week. I am going to go buy a new battery and take and replace it and check all fuses in morning. Watching him I seen it fault when trying to read and or write and not show what it was connected to. Several times it would state it was unlicensed.
Any ideas on what to do next. He pulled a log for errors and codes I think and sending that to hp but I know won?t get anything back till next week sometime.
It?s like it?s lost all communication to the engine ecm somehow. Just looking for next steps. Going to take my laptop and hp tubers tomorrow to see if the new battery might correct a voltage issue and low me to read or even connect correctly. Didn?t have any dim lights and heights worked. Dash was bright and so forth. It?s very odd.
    Thanks.

ask the tuner if he saved a info.log and start a trouble ticket with support

Update. New battery. Checked all fuses and relays. Even swapped some of the pcm. Ecu fuses and relays just to double check. Radio locked, service everything. Anti lock. Air ride. 4x4. Traction control. All that. Every light is on on the dash and some flashing. Dash used to say press brake and push start. Now says push clutch and push start. Failed when trying to connect with hp or sometimes will connect but instead of loading the name and model of vehicles it just states connected other scanners give no communication fault. Have a guy from dodge coming over this afternoon or tomorrow to scan and check with their computer. Image below is what other scanners show.

Swapped battery this morning and spent about 4 hours checking all fuses, relays, grounding points, continuous through grounds with same result.

Have a guy from doge going to go looney it later today/night or tomorrow with their scanner. The tuner started a ticket with hp so will know more on that tomorrow.

Use GOOD scantool scan all codes. I would not replace a single thing until you have atleast done that. Do not leave Battery hooked up until this is fixed.
Scanning codes with HPT or at Autozone is not what you need. You need a good Scantool that can parse every module.

This whole press clutch thing does NOT seem uncommon. I have been involved with this Forum for only 1.5hrs and I have seen it 3times.

    A few things to keep in mind in my honest opinion;
1- When you dump a cal and call it "stock". I doubt it's stock. I'd bet that dump not exactly how oem wrote it.
2- You cannot trust any Chry product after 2012. I bet oem have an AI that can remote in and make your life hell.
3- You cannot trust any vehicle built after 2015 that you haven't modified enough to ride all the Cellure wireless access.
4- When you connect too your DLC your not actually connected to your target. So UDS Protocols can encrypt or even change.
5- When you Flash a car with oem tools/software. In this case let's Your Jeep so WiTech. It will literally say "Update for enhanced generic scantool improvements"
HAVE ENOUGH CRITICAL THINKING TO REALIZE. That "improvement" might be to cause stupid stuff like this to happen.

I actually just went thru the same thing. I was without a vehicle for about 2 days. 2018 Dodge Charger. I panicked because of the LOSS COMMUNICATION MIL(SES) code it would not accept anything I was trying to do. I'm not a tuner and just learning my way around VCM scanner and editor for about 3 months. I submitted a support ticket and after several hours, finally decided to call. A tech walked me thru and got me up and running. I wish I could remember everything I did, but basically he showed me how to try and install the stock tune. He wanted me to see if I could write the stock tune to the vehicle. I had to click a feature that would not allow the VCM editor to try to write to the TCM...only the PCM. I wish I could be of more help.
