5r110w shift flare
I recently started getting a shift flare from 3-5 and from 5-6, I also noticed that it makes a whining noise while in reverse.
No codes just flares in 5th and 6th and makes that noise in reverse.
I know the direct clutch solenoid is used for those 3 gears.
Anybody every have a solenoid stick/start to fail without throwing a code?

Huge issue with the 6.0 trucks. The Solenoids get weak and create a junk shift. There were a couple companies out that made an upgraded direct drive solenoid, I was able to install and get some extra life out of my trans. Ultimately I needed to do a rebuild, when I did that I opted to use new solenoids.

Well it wasn?t the direct clutch solenoid. Installed a new modified one from XDP and it still does it.
I changed my TCC lock up from 3rd to 5th and noticed that when it shifts to 5th without the TC locked it doesn?t flare. Which makes me think it could be the TCC slipping during a shift.
I tried logging TCC slip but it seems to happen too quickly to see it on the graph.
