6.0 lq9 4l80e sloppy stage 2 cam Running super rich! Fuel in the oil

    I just built a 2001 6.0 lq9
    Sloppy stage 2 cam
    1000cc fuel injector clinic injectors
Nbs intake 102 mm throttle body
    243 heads pac 1218 springs
3 bar map sensor 213-3205 part number
    ARP head studs

I started the truck up yesterday for the first time and it?s running super super rich ?
I checked the oil to find fuel mixed with it, I immediately drained it? once I get home in the morning I will post up the data logs

Edit: I paid to have the vats removed and paid to have all the necessary changes to the ecm for the injectors and transmission, After attempting to start it with no success I decided to order the mpvi3 connector and figured out how to mange my way through vcm scanner and vcm editor.. after learning how to save files and data logs I?m hoping someone with tuning experience can help or see what?s going on...
Im sorry for the lack of knowledge, I just started using hp tuners.

Running lean and fuel mixed with oil doesn't make any sense.

My guess is that it doesn't have the right injector data and the MAP data could be wrong. But we need the tune file to really see what you did or didn't change.

If you don't post your tune and logs when you have questions you aren't helping yourself.

These guys are gonna want the part numbers of the injectors and MAPs. Looks like your about to learn why it's very important to get the correct data input.

Post the tune file as well.

And that log file has nothing on it, it's got no data. Post a different one.

Alright, so we can make a little list of things I see first.

Cylinder volume is wrong, you have a 6.0 and not like a 7.0 or whatever number is in that table right now. So change it back to the 6.0 size, like .74590 or something, double check that.

I don't think you have the right MAP sensor, I googled that part number it came back as fitting 4.3 engine in a jimmy among many other vehicles. The MAP sensor data is for a 3 bar sensor and that sensor is a 1 bar sensor.

The VE table is something, don't really know what to say there. It's got no fuel in it even with those size injectors. I also wouldn't be running a 3 bar OS if you don't plan to run above 15 pounds of boost. The 2 bar OS is way better from a VE standpoint, easier to dial in the fueling.

Make sure fuel pressure is 43.5 or 58psi, whatever you set the flow rate data at for those injectors.

Flex fuel is enabled, if no flex fuel sensor installed you should disable that.

Rev limiter is set to 6,900rpm. That's pretty darn high for a camshaft that won't want to rev past like 6,300-6,400 before power falls off.

I forgot to mention i went 30 over.
Are there any 3 bar map sensors u would
recommend? If anyone could dial in my injectors I will pay .. I also have a wideband on order.
I will turn the rev limiter down and also turn flex fuel off.

Just shoot him a email. He is very good at what he does and is a "legit" tuner. Just answer his questions.

The reason most folks want to use email and not phone numbers is they sometimes have preconfigured replies so they dont waste their time talking on the phone. NO point in talking on the phone for 2 hours when a email reply in 5 seconds gets the same amount of info.

I prefer to do everything through email so there's no "I thought you said", everything is in writing. It works better that way. People often misunderstand or don't retain information. I can't remember every customer, every car, so if everything is in an email chain it makes it much easier for me to keep track of things.

There's a method to my madness.

There is a lot wrong with that file including displacement (should be .750 L) and map sensor settings. It's not a great idea to run a 3 bar on this if you aren't running more than 15 psi of boost. You loose too much table resolution with them.

I also do email tuning. I have 2 people answering phones. But don't call. what is this 1990? lol

O/T: Several months ago I sent Promaxx (cylinder heads) a fairly detailed, clear email with a specific question that had a yes/no answer, got the reply back of:

Must be some boomer working there.

23 years on the dyno, shooting guns, power sports, and playing guitar in rock bands.. I can't hear shit on the phone. Sounds like the adults in a charlie brown episode.
