Help Needed Please, Cranking Advance still active while driving
Hello,
I am having a hard time trying to figure out why my Cranking Advance is still being added to my spark while the engine is running. It seems to be adding the amount called for in the Cranking Advance Table based on the coolant temperature when it was started and does not change with the current ECT. Please see the attached Tune and Log. I am still working on the VE tables for now. Thank you in advance for any help or insight.
It's not cranking advance. The short blips at idle are underspeed correction. High CylAir timing is due to it being in PE and the Fuel Base spark corrections being invoked. Other than that spark is following the Low Octane table.
Thank you for the help. After spending more time working with it and following your advice. I believe that the scanner just shows it there, for the whole log for some reason, and it is not actually being added in. I had been concerned about the KR that was showing up in the log. I was trying to determine if it was real knock or caused by noise from it having long tubes, this is in a 72 C-10. I didn't want to turn down the sensitivity without looking closely at what was happening with timing. I have copied the High Octane Table to match the Low Octane Table and took out 4 degrees temporarily to get my MAF and VE Tables sorted out. Thank you both again for the assistance, I'm learning every time I go out for a tune session. I was able to adjust the global gain in one small area by about 20% right off idle and I am no longer seeing the KR that was being pulled right at tip in.
