    Will MPVI3 read VATS status?

I did an LS swap using a 2004 LS6. I had the PCM sent to a tuner who was supposed ot turn off the VATS. I suspect it is not turned off. If I borrow a friends MPVI3 and plug it into my OBD2 port, can it show me if my VATS is disabled or not? I dont want to spend a bunch of money just to verify the VATS status. If its not then I can send it back to the tuner to make sure he turns it off.

If you do not get an answer for using the MPVI3, you can always get an LED test light and probe the security command pin from the ECM and see if its giving security light command.

read the ecm using vcm editor, then you can see if vats & the dtc's related to vats have been disabled. I think there is also a status bit for vats status as well in vcm scanner.

Have you asked the tuner to double check his files? He should have it on file still.

I do a lot of these things and I get blamed for this often and sometimes I do make a mistake but often it is something else.. Like IGN not staying hot in crank and RUN or no fuel pressure etc. Bad cam sensors on GEN 4's can look like a vats issue but on a 04 LS6 it will just usually crank every other time.

Yeah but see, the problem with generic "well I guess it might work that way" comments like this is, there is no such thing as a dedicated 'security command pin', it's all done over Class2.

Show us where to put the test light in that diagram.
