    New MPVI3 Trouble

I have purchased a new MPVI3. It is not recognized in VCM Editor or Scanner dropdown menu. Subsequentily I am unable to retrieve the needed verification code. I have downloaded the most recent VCM Suite. I was using MPVI2 prior. I lost that unit and purchased this MPVI3. I'm stuck!!!

Try a new usbc cable to see if that fixes it. If it does not please open a support ticket.

I've had mine for over a year and same issue and support is no help, they haven't updated firmware for a very long time and I don't think they give a crap if you are using older PCMs, I had 0 issues with my mpvi2 and could kick myself for upgrading, but if it helps I am able to log 2 channels over Bluetooth for 5min or so and my computer probably has more memory and processing power than HP Turner servers.... The only support I got was don't use high speed and only log a couple of channels and go ahead and spend a fortune on license (replacement for brick cant use original lick) and cables ..... Very disappointed in the mpvi3

From what I've read from your posts you were able to get it working on one of your pc's but not your other. This would indicate a pc issue. Not an issue with our hardware/software.

Unfortunately computer issues are often our of our control, personally I've installed our software/MPVI3 hardware on several windows 10 pc's without issue and haven't really found any compatibility issues thus far that we could resolve on our end.

What could it possibly be on my end that the drop down menu doesnt show MPVI3 Verification code but does show 1 & 2 ? I am no computer whiz so looking for some help and it looks as if others have had this issue also. Thanks !

I don't doubt it, however there's something common with these mpvi3's I'm determined to figure out. It has something to do with how the 3 uses a windows plug and play comm port setup versus the 2 using the fdti drivers and a usb serial converter setup. It even appears to somehow being tied to Cloned operating systems.

I did get mine to finally connect and resync using the scanner, but would not using the editor.... This is using both the latest beta and stable, both scanners will read the serial/code and also resynce but neither editor will. I guess without asking for some propritary information, do these not poll the comm port the same way? I see the comm/blue light flash as soon as I retreive the code with the scanner, but it never does anything with the editor.

I get this is probably going to end up like the AEM serial to usb disappearing ordeal, but we did find workarounds that work great and are shared when others have issues, I think some of us are just looking for some feedback on the parts of this we can't see.

Sure would be nice to get an answer as i am not a computer guru. I did see where someone else installed the Beta version and it then appeared but you say not for you.

    Thanks Bill,

I did a Resync of the tool and it then performed an update to the MPVI3 so i doubt it is my usb port. I did start a ticket yesterday late but No replies yet

click the help-MPVI2 verification code. This will work with MPVI3's as well, we just hadn't renamed it yet.

What version of windows are you running?
I had this happen a few weeks ago with a new MVPI3.
