Mk7 GTI (259L ECU) - Aftermaket Manifold Cold Starts
Have used user defined parameters to put all port flap tables to zero, and also disable CH with mix/max temp settings.
Still getting port flap position of 1 at cold start, and it fires/dies out multiple times.
Maybe need to adjust Comb Mode to force comb mode 0 all the time other than WOT for MPI comb mode 9?
Any help appreciated!

Yep, everyone has issues with combustion mode 2 (1 pulse DI hom + 1 pulse DI stratified) with these manifolds with no port flaps. Also at start it will do other weird cmb modes that are CH specific and maybe even 3 pulse DI? Been forever since I logged it.
I'd use the various min/max rpm and min/max torque tables to disable all cmb modes other than 0 and 9 and see how it goes.
Since you can't log cmb mode, I guess you can log Inj pulse 1, 2, and 3 to see what's going on and what mode it's in.

I have an external logging tool that is able to log comb mode no worries there.
So it would just be a case of maxing the "Min Torque" tables for 1-4, and dropping the "Max Torque" tables to zero for 1-4. Leaving 0 and 5?
Same with the Max RPM MPLH and then user def parameter for Min RPM MPLH?

Update: forced comb mode 0 with min/max torque and RPM maps. Didn't die out this time, but sure is angry until CH ends.
But I already set "C_TIA_ST_MAX_CH" to -48* and "C_TIA_ST_MIN_CH" to 93.75* which should turn off CH right?

So you flashed HSL patch so you can log with Simos Tools but still edit and cal flash with HPT?
It looks like you did kill CH-- revs are a lot lower and it's cmb mode 0.
What may be going on is SAI making it unstable, just a guess. I have a S3 so no SAI-.. Just those 2 tables killed it for me.
I'm not sure if these will kill SAI or if you'd need to completely remove it/disable the code

Also, I just noticed that it's unstable until right when O2 sensor comes online. I'm not sure if O2 is disabled/open loop while SAI is active (because it would throw it off) or if's purely just not happy in open loop.
Let us know when ends up working, I'm leaning SAI right now.

So finally had the chance to move the car after the manifold swap and cold starts are bad still. Not like misfires and angry as it was before, but it'll crank and start then immediately die 4-5 times before it starts and then idles like normal. Got a log of it today, not really seeing anything much. I do find it strange that the flap position is still commanding 1 during start even though all 8 flap tables are set to 0. Also it is commanding Comb mode 27 while cranking.

Also if you put it in drive before letting it warm up for a good few minute, the car dies the moment you let off the break. Not a hard shutoff, more like a loaded down stall. Super strange.
