Thread: So are we done, are we taking a backseat?

So are we done, are we taking a backseat?

I'm in no way bashing Keith or HP Tuners, if it wasn't for them I'd be using the dreadful DHP tuner A+ IMO for a great job! As each new version is released I'm finding no new parameters for us V6 guys and I'm just curious if this is it for us, it appears we're outdated and HP Tuners is focusing on the newer vehicles and other manufacturers. Is there any more research in finding more parameters for us to tweak with our V6s or have they closed the chapter on us and moved on.

One parameter I would so like would be the ability to turn on Performance Shift, DHP has the feature but HP doesn't.

I have the following on my to-do list:
    - Perf Shift Option
    - Open loop fuel tables
    - 04+ AFR spark table

I'm trying to add these whenever i get a chance. The big issue for the V6 is there are hundreds of different calibrations and files. To give you an idea just to add one parameter or table for all V6's we support i need to modify almost 100 definition files!!!

I can't give a timeframe for it but i was hoping to do the perf shift option in .18 but it didn't make it.

Cool! Thanks No rush, I think most of us were just a little concerned that some of the V6 guys, especially those of us who's engines are on the chopping block, were going to get left out.

But if he opens it for the L32, it'll probably be open for the L67. I can't see GM making that big of a change between the two, so it'd be killing two birds with one stone.

I have been on Chris about this for months.... He and the rest of the HPT team are working very hard to try and get as many things done as fast as possible. The V6 unfortunetely have sooooooooo many different OS ID's that it makes it extremely time consuming to release a major change for a V6. Hang in there guys..

I have to agree that the open loop tables are the next big thing that we are looking for...

I wouldn't mind seeing TPS PE Enable Delay....Its in the 04+ calibrations...yes it can delay PE by a third to half second IIRC. Not good when you slam boost in from a smaller pulley.

It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...

i'm still figuring all of this out, but I'm sure all of these other options will help out greatly once I get more familiar with everything. Thanks for everything you guys have done, you have been a TON of help already and I am just getting started. soooooo much reading but well worth it.
