    2002 lb7 question

    I was told i have an 30% overdriven cp3? my truck is only getting 14mpg's.... where do i start on a tune to fix? i greatly appreciate the help. i downloaded the injection calculator and going to try a towing tune. I believe my tune file is stock? i had a banks 6 gun plugged up, its off now.

    AIR DOG LIFT PUMP
    INTAKE PIPE AND K&N FILTER
    I HAVE THE 4PSI BOOST PILL ON THE WASTEGATE ACTUATOR
    5'' EXHAUST
    33'' TIRES
    looking for mpgs mostly. i travel 100 miles per day to work
    MY TRUCK ALSO REQUIRES TOO MANY MPH TO LOCKUP TC IN TOW MODE. Id like TO LOWER OD LU TO 52 MPH.. not 64 mph while towing under load.
    im a gas tuner, and this is my personal truck.

    Just glanced at your file.
    Are you sure its the lockup in Tow Haul your looking at? The file shows it locking in 5th at 45 MPH
    In Normal mode it shows 76 MPH
    The gear shift can also influence this, as in maybe you are in T/H pulling heavy and the its not shifting into 5th til the 65 MPH you reference

    correct, under load it "hangs" in 4th and id like od and lockup sooner.

    Let me see if I can configure a log for you, the last one of these I played with was on a different platform.

    Then I'd like you to post a few logs with some runs.
    I don't believe your chasing a convertor lock up complaint, I belive your looking at a shift point issue
    The 2003 AL5 I played with, locked in second just before shifting to 3rd and stayed locked from that point forword. The convertor slip PID confirms this.

    I've got shifting and lockup dialed in, is there any adjustments for the 30% overdriven cp3? lean out?

    In theory overdriven CP3 should allow more volume, so when cruising I believe it will just be bypassing more out the cascade overflow valve.
    Oversize injectors on the other hand are definetly different.

    Do you have some cruising logs?
    -RPM, MPH, Gear, Throttle Position, Pilot MM3, Main MM3, Pilot timing, Main timing, Boost.
    Once you know where you are while cruising you can try: decreasing the MM3 in the throttle table, decreasing the pulse width, possibly decrease the timing to decrease the pumping effect, this could go for boost too.

    Anyway I'd have to play with this as I've never really tried to optimize fuel consumption so I have no magic formula, hopefully someone else will chime in once you post a log and can have specific conditions to evaluate.
