    Boost display issue help!

I've got a Cobalt SS/SC and have been doing some tuning on it for awhile now. I am having an issue with having the logs I am pulling displaying boost. I know it is logging it because when I send the file to my tuner he can read and see my boost numbers, but I cannot see it on my VCM scanner. Any ideas??? I'm lost on this one...

map in kpa can be converted to psi which in turn can be converted to boost...so as long as your logging manifold air pressure you too can see your boost numbers.
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...

I see approx 19lbs of boost when I look at it using my formula above

you need to make the custom PID and add it to the scanner table display
if you want it in the gauges add it there too...

Why is it that you can define 10 different User Defined Parameters, but when you goto insert it will only show you 4? How can you define more and be able to insert as many as you want?

you can't add new ones with a scan log open...close the scan log, make a custom pid, then open the scan log.
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...

and there was a bug that made it to where you had to close the scanner before you could add it to anything...dont know if thats fixed yet or not..

I don't think its a bug Scott I think its possibly a limitation of the software. For instance I can open the scanner, create a custom pid, open a file, then close the file & the custom pid will show up. So technically you don't have to close out the scanner...its more like resetting a session.

    perhaps I read wrong...

is he talking about scanning and making a log....
and not being able to add the PD after you have started scanning or after the log is completed..??

thats a limitation of the software for sure...

you can however make a custom histogram that shows boost..and you can look at it using last value or spread out over a wide variety of cells or whatever..
I have an RPM table that I made and log boost...shows how much boost I am getting at various rpms...lets me se the way the boost rises so I can determine fueling and spark needs better

Hi, I searched the Help file - it tells me what parameters to use in order to create but not HOW to create a custom PID. I looked in all the menus, buttons, info buttons etc. and nothing that says "create custom PID" nor any screen that looks like the Help screen custom PID screenshot.

I just moved over from EFI Live where creating a custom PID was obvious.

I'm running 2.1.18.0 with a MVPI Pro box.

    Thanks

    EG

    Any help would be appreciated.

Nevermind - figured it out. It was certainly 100% non-obvious.

its fairly straigght forward to people who havent used other tuning suites..
but when you learn a different program it always makes it harder to find...
its all in the help files like FOFF pointed out...

Correct. You MUST have a 2 bar sensor at a minimum.
