For those without Microsoft Office (Excel, etc.)

Not sure the best place to post this. I picked up a second laptop on the cheap and was not willing to give Microsoft more money for access to Excel, etc. For those without Microsoft Office there is a FREE alternative from SunMicrosystems I came across that so far seems to work quite well (Open Office)

great program...its been around for a long time...used to be called star office

its not fully compatible with the newest versions of excel...but thas why the new version has an .xlsx extension instead of just .xls

which reminds me..make sure if anybody uses excel to build a spreadsheet you save it in 97-00 compatible mode
