    full manual valve body 46re

hoping to hear from someone who has done the conversion and modified the valve body for this set up

    (the 2 toggle switches)

i have a pin out and instructions that says to apply 12v + to pin 1

it shows which is which for the needed grounds as well

the thing is, i have seen the oem wiring diagram and it shows 5v for the solenoids and everything inside the trans

curious how long the solenoids last when they are seeing 14v when cruising down the road???

    will they get hot???

    You are good to go.

OEM is +12V to pin one and ground signals to pins 6 and 7. This is the correct way to wire your 8 pin for a manual valve body. The solenoid is 33 ohms of resistance, so it does not pull a lot of amperage when turned on.

    Regards,

    John

Be sure to unlock if you're giving it much beans. The converter clutch setup is pretty weak in these.
If in doubt, multiply everything by 1.1.

That is what I have been told…

Also heard there is no stator available to increase stall?

That the fins cannot be bent either?

TranStar has a v6 version that will supposedly stall around 2400 if my lil wedge makes any torque

i don't need a billet cover or a triple disk clutch...

i just want to raise the stall speed : (

A shop local to me says they can do some stuff, but I also paid them to cut and clean out a converter which then destroyed the fresh rebuild with metal from the last failure, so fuck them. Output shaft support - aluminum part - failed due to the cooler clogging with STEEL. No steel parts were hurt so the steel was already in there. Kind-of a pisser. Yes, it was a new cooler.

I haven't looked into these converters a whole lot yet, but I have been told that the triple disks won't fit the gas applications and the single disk just won't hold much power no matter what you do because of the way they work. YMMV, let me know if you find something good.
If in doubt, multiply everything by 1.1.

Yeah they say the converter does not like to see full line pressure
