I think it all started with Injector Dynamics providing data. But I agree how did we make anything run with A/M injectors before then but we did. Our choices were Ford red tops, Ford green tops and Siemen's 60s all with no data other than IFR.

I hear ya, I get it. In the end, I'm glad I received these injectors for free and didn't actually spend 600$ on them just to find out that they wont work well for my application purely because of a lack of necessary data. of course, its important to do research before blindly pulling the trigger on expensive stuff. However, I am the guy who put time and effort into assembling something incohesive using parts that I already had. I definitely feel bad for the guy who buys expensive Holley (or other) injectors because "they should work" when they wont. I'll throw these injectors in my Camaro which already has Holley EFI and get new ones for the Silverado. I guess that just means i'll have to throw a turbo on the Camaro to match the bigger injector. darn.

The aftermarket parts industry is a whore house of poor fitting under performing parts.

I tell our customers. You don't even have to buy it from us but before you buy something ask us.. So much garbage out there.

48lb injectors won't take you all that far if it's boosted. GM built squillions of L96/L92/L94 flex fuel engines with ~50lb injectors, and they run just fine at low speed/small pulsewidths on straight gasoline. But those are modern, fast, light injectors that are much much cleaner down low than those old fat-body Tuned Port style injectors. Those are just not a great option for anything today, other stuff with similar flow rates are so much better. 'Free' all by itself doesn't make them worth anything.

Lol, don't forget the "marine" 8.1l GM injectors. Straight from GM and still no useful data back then. I still have a set of those running in a low boost 4.8 from 2002. Tuned it "good enough" years ago and never bothered to change it.

I've been taking the day to research, learn, and adjust my tune. I'm sitting at the table in my dining room, looking over the river behind my house, wondering if these Holley injectors might make decent fishing lures. Maybe I'll tie a couple hooks to them and toss them out on a line. Perhaps I can catch some dinner, or more likely, snag some carp off the bottom since these things are heavy enough to sink in the strong current.

The Injector Police are not claiming, and never claimed, that each individual vehicle can't be tuned to each individual set of mystery injectors and end up with something workable... for that specific combo. The data & tune don't necessarily apply to any other vehicle, and that's what people are looking for, something they can copy and get the same results. They can't do that.

Having data that came from a bench instead of from a running engine means anybody with the same injectors can plug it in and go.

Every time this topic comes up I'm reminded of a quote from a very silly book about ascribing virtue to doing things the hard, inefficient way being self-rationalizing bullshit (paraphrased).

You go far enough back in the wayback machine and we didn't even have access to the injector data tables besides for the flow rate.

And I like to point out the 01-02 F-Body LS1s and the 02-04 Vette LS1s. Same part number injectors used in each platform. Completely different injector data in each platform. (GM Factory Data)

Side mount 2.3l whipple in my case, but same idea. Took off the whipple add on injectors and piggyback and put the 42# injectors on along with an FMIC.

The bigger the injector the less likely you are to come out with something that works on your own. Back in the Pre-data days getting something bigger than a 42lbs was a pain in the ass. We could get common Siemens 60's and 80's to work but things like we have now days would have been impossible. Like these 1000cc+. I don't see that ever working without data.

That data isn't something you can derive from tuning.

Looking back at the power that stuff made.. It was pitiful. A 112 was lucky to make 480 rwhp. Some of those side mount whipples would be completely gassed at 380 rwhp.

I'm happy to announce that I pulled the trigger on a set of fuel injectors from Fuel Injector Connection today, which were far better suited for my application. They come with all of the data that I need and its awesome. I wish I would've ditched the Holley injectors sooner. Thanks Everybody.
