Thread: Off the cylinder air chart?

    Off the cylinder air chart?

I have a 402 with a turbo and I am pegging the cylinder air vs.rpm vs. timing charts. I have a unexplained timing pull and think it may be coming from being off the chart. Is this normal?

Log burst knock... It pulls time under rapid airflow ramping. Also don't forget basics like Timing vs IAT, etc.

If I am logging knock retard won't the burst knock show?
I have zeroed out all the tables that can effect timing. (cat light off, iat, and so on)
    Thanks

you can also do a log of just spark variables...
theres more than just knock..theres all of these things possible

I had to zero out all my burst knock tables because with a turbo, the air flow delta is very easily exceded at different loads/ RPMs of the engine depending on the turbo.

Thanks, I didn't realize the knock retard chart would not show everything. I will try logging others. Here is my tune.

are you getting ECT's up in the 230's or below 113??

otherwise it might be burst knock..these are the only tables I se that could cause spark changes at WOT past your 1.20g/cyl limit of the table
unless somehow you have the AC on and you are seeing some AC torque spark management from the AC bump spark stuff

No my ECT's are 200. I will go after the burst knock table.
    Thanks for your help!
