    Fuel pump booster

Well I bought a Zex fuel pump booster (which is made by Walbro) to help my stock LS6 fuel pump with a cam/headers/nitrous 2003 Z06 and upon reading the instructions I find that it is designed for a vehicle that uses a fuel pressure regulator with a return line back to the fuel tank. Since I'm pretty sure the Corvette has a return-less fuel system, I guess that won't work.

Do I have any options other than buying a better fuel pump and having to drop the tank to install it (which is what I was trying to avoid)?

I've been wanting (though not badly enough, to actually
get on with it) to convert my car to a return style through
    the rails.

To me this seems like really only needing one additional fat
forward line, a little cross-plumbing and deletion of the T
block, and of course aftermarket rails. If you wanted to
just keep it dead-end rails and star the forward, rail and
return (return path being reuse of the old forward line,
connected back to the regulator port on the tank) then
that would be even simpler. But I like the idea of fuel
sweeping through the rails entirely because less line
sediment accumulates there (returning to the tank instead,
presumably to be caught by the filter next pass).

Or, you put the booster before the T block so the in-
tank regulator sees the boosted output and controls it.
But this may make for extra work and elevated line
pressure unless the booster is switch controlled (say,
off a TPS switch or the nitrous solenoid power). And
you no longer null out the forward flow/pressure drop
as would a front mounted regulator or front-returned-
    to-in-tank regulator scheme.

You might look for the '97-'98 'vette rails with the
regulator on them but then the tank regulator has to
    be bypassed.

Thanks for all that JimmyBlue. Where is the regulator on the C5?

The 2003 C5 has 2 different fuel systems. If equipped with a fuel filter on the left frame rail, the fuel filter is the pressure regulator. If there is no fuel filter, then the regulator is part of the left fuel sending unit.

I knew I had the old style (with the external fuel filter) and was glad to be able to easily change the filter. I just found out recently that the old style (Walbro Gerotor) is a better pump than the new vane type pump.

Do you of any type of booster pump I could use instead of having to replace the in tank pump?

Your stock pump should support over 550 RWHP.

That's good news and that's where I'm at.
