AFR goes back to where I started

I tried Russ's open loop maf tuning, and it seemed to be working fine(during).
Cruising afr was 14.5-14.7. I was happy with it.

Then I went to tune the wot values, and my cruise afr is back to 16.0 (where it was before I started)

    I'm stumped...

    What did I do wrong?

are you still in openloop? if so that would be why, until you go back to running closed loop, your afr will be off when no in closed loop or PE.

No... the afr is correct while I'm in open loop.=14.5-14.7

Then I go back to closed loop, and it's off.=16.0

This tune method has not worked out for me so far. I didn't replace the NB O2 with a WB. I have a bung for a WB. But I click the open loop button within the HPT Scanner.

in closed loop it's stoich; 14.7.

In open loop, I set the PE table to command 14.7, and it worked, then I changed all the settings and went back to closed loop, and that's when the afr went back to 16.0 (which is what I had before I started)

I do have an exhaust leak, but I don't think it was there on my initial attempt. I'll get that fixed and try again.

Can you reset the fuel trims too much?

Only in the sense that you don't give the PCM enough time to learn....meaning it does take some driving for the trims to level off
