Okay guys, I have 2 junkyard PCM's from a 00' Impala. Can I plug those into my car and burn my vin and bin into it? If not why? I imagine you will say I need support for the impala. I only have support for a 00' & 01' GP. But why can't I change the vins and burn from there?

you would need support for the impala years that the pcm's are for...otherwise it would be like me going and just overwriting my friend 02 impala even though i dont have the license for it...same deal different situation though.
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...

Hey, brought my car and Impala pcm to work with me. We are able to reprogram the pcm as a new one with the tech II and GM programming. GM has always said we cannot do it, has to be new, unprogrammed one. Simple thing though really. Just program as though it's a new one. Now I have 2 pcms to tune with. So if anyone is interested in having a pcm programmed for their vehicle so they can tune it, let me know. Small fee of course.
