Good news for the Vortec trucks! I just wish I had a 98 and not an unsupported 97.

Wow you guys are fast. Got the beta. I drove my HPTuned car to work today, so I'll plug into the truck when I get home. Thanks a ton!

I'll be going home to NY in a week where my old 99 Chevy Tahoe is. It was tuned by Ed Wright so I am guessing that means it is encrypted. Will that matter for what you need?

We don't necessarily need anything other then people telling us how great our product is

We just want to gather all the definition files we can for the upcoming public release & allow our current customer base to be able to tune their old style vortec motors.

You may run into a security auth. error upon reading the pcm if Ed did lock it though, not much we can do about that though.

If you still want to try the beta though feel free to email me at support with your serial number & I'll gladly give you the update.

Yeah...we are working with a couple of customers to see if we can support them but its very early to tell. If you have access to one that you'd like to run some tests on for us email me at support with your serial number and a link to this thread.

I e-mailed support with the log file, but I kept getting the "unable to locate VCM " message, just like I did before. The cable was able to get power from the OBD2 port when not plugged into the laptop, so the fuse is not blown, plus I checked the fuse. The truck has gone through the OBD2 emissions test a few times now, so I pretty sure the VCM is OK.

we have temporarily stopped the beta for vortec as we have found a minor issue when writing the vcm in vehicle that we cannot duplicate on the bench. Anyone that has requested from me has been alerted but I want anyone else with the beta to not attempt a write at this point.

We hope to have this issue ironed out soon at which time we will restart the public beta process. Thanks for everyones cooperation.

bill thanks for updating us about beta version, haven't tried yet with vortec.

What's the issue that you can't duplicate on the bench?

I have been datalogging with HPT scanner and editing the files with Tunercat for OBD2 for quite some time now.

Its a write calibration only issue. The scanner & reading seems to work flawlessly.
