So I've got a '98 Vette and it appears that the maximum baud rate is a measly 125bits/s. My scan tool limits me to 5hz minimum acquisition rate when requesting 24bits of data. What kind of transfer rates are others able to get on newer vehicles. Guess I'm trying to find out if the data link, engine ecm or scan tool is the limiting factor here... Seems worth it to update the vehicle ECM if it allows for more data logging!

Data bus (11Kbps max IIRC at low speed, 44K at high speed) & bit count is your limiter.

1-6 Bytes 40 frames/sec
7-12 Bytes 20 frames/sec
13-24 Bytes 10 frames/sec
25-48 Bytes 5 frames/sec
the newer E38/E67 computers get in the range of
40fps with ~24 bytes and 32fps with ~26 bytes.
I don't remember the exact numbers but they spit out so much data.
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...
