    Idle issue (4.8l truck w/ cam)

    2001 4.8l with the following mods:

    tr224 114lsa cam (224/224 .563 .563)
    lt headers,
    !cats
    !egr
    built 4l60e
    bolt ons
    3200 converter
    stock intake manifold
    stock fuel system
    stock size throttle body(non ported) with the hole slightly drilled out.
    running pump 93 oct.



    files are attached.

    The truck runs great, part throttle, wot, etc etc... however starting up (hot or cold) is the issue. I was hoping maybe someone could shed some light on my tune, maybe i need to zero a table or change some throttle follower delay times somewhere... or something like that

    what it does is it will sound like it wants to start strong, rpms will jump up just like normal and immediatly shut off. Now it will start if i play with the throttle a bit, seems to like the cold starts over the hot starts right now and all these seemed to come about after installing the higher rpm and looser converter

    the table i was messing with to try and get it to act right was "Base Running Airflow: Idle Airflow" (Engine>>Idle>>Idle Airflow>>Base running Airflow)

    Was it put on a wideband?
    Do you have any logs?

    no logs.. and no wideband

    i can log a cold start and a warm start if you want... the timing at idle is around 20-22* and it very well could be that its too rich, idk. Let me know if you need a log file and i'll get it tonite

    hopefully you plan on getting a WB or at least have some new o2s so you can get some decent numbers.

    Read the sticky, post an idle log. Otherwise there is nothing we can do.

    thanks, i plan on getting one.

    i work a 12 hr/day job... so sorry i couldnt get a log, just thought I could have a few people look at some things... and i already got a bunch of help.. i appreciate it guys.

    a big thanks to vortec and frost... i did everything frost said and utialized some componets from vortec's tune that he sent me and the truck starts perfect now at any temp. thanks a bunch, both of you

    now.. the hunt for an affordable wb is on

    A long shot but if frost or OP be able to forward me a copy of vortecs tune as I'm also trying to tune a 04 Yukon with a similar truck cam please?
