just fired up my new set up and the advance is so low...why?
the coolant temps are too high also. the stat must have taken a crap..
log is short, dont wanna run it ike that.

I would go to the ECT spark table & change any negative values to 0. Then zero the Cat Light off spark table. The values are listed as positive timing, but I believe that this table actually retards the timing to heat the Cats up quicker.
Whats with the 25% LTFT's?

i fattened it up an additional 25% across the board...ill see were that gets me.
even w/ect @ cooler #s timing low. ill take a look as the cat light table.
thanks russ ill try it and see what happens
As for the ECT spark table, I meant to say that any negative values below 176*F need to be zeroed. What size injectors are you using? Looks like the IFR table is too high, causing the positive LTFT's.

yeah i went and zeroed 176* down to .52 gramsOriginally Posted by Russ K
with old motor i had no low timing issues......
cat light off wasnt in old versions???
russ what else could cause this?
Nick,
Try this config to see what's going on. It has a bunch of spark parameters for you to log. Then we will know where the "missing" spark has gone.

What is the reasoning behind making everything below 176*F zero?
You don't want reduced spark timing as the engine is warming up.
