    Dyno'ed the SS

I had a chance to dyno and tune my 2001 Camaro SS at Haddad Motorsports today. I had previously street tuned it meticulously, so well that the fuel trims average between -1% to 0% throughout the driving range. First pass on the dyno resulted in 336rwhp and about 370rwtq. After I played around with the timing (didn't like more, nor less) and rearranging the fuel, I arrived at 342rwhp and 397rwtq consistently. It did hit peak of 345rwhp and 398rwtq, but I couldn't back it up. I also decided to do a locked converter run for comparison's sake, that netted 361rwhp and 391rwtq. As you can see in the graph, the thin line is the unlocked results, while the thick line is the locked converter results.

My setup is a factory stock LQ4 long block with only Hooker LTs, ORY, and Catback. It does have a B&M 3000 converter and 3.73 gears out back.

    congrats on the nice results!

I suspect my results will be similar to yours. Last time i dynoed 321whp and 360 rwtq. before my headers and 3" exhaust.

Did you tune with a wideband before the dynotune? Or did you tune with a narrowband?

Thanks! I tuned on the street with the MAF RTT and my AEM wideband that I used to use (still have them). I fine tuned the WOT (spark and PE) on the dyno with my NTK equipped AFX wideband.

That LS1 intake is killing you, swap it out for an LS6 and you should see a good gain. Also the Long tubes will help. Depending on the type of milled heads you have, with these changes you should easily be above me.

yeah im lookin for a intake. gonna wait till i find a deal, long tubes are next on the list. i think my tq should take a big jump and carry the hp with the exhaust opened up. im sure the intake would love to breath even more with the headers tho. one step at a time. im cheap. im told its a very conservitive dyno also . will see with the track times saturday. oh and they are the stock truck heads minus milling to get a little compression back in her.

Those 317 flow as good as 243, similar ports. Dynojets seem to be the internet standard and more optomistic versus other dynos. Either way those are good numbers, post your results from the track after this weekend, I may go to a local 1/8 mile next week myself.

yeah thats the reason i went with the truck heads, was debating on having those milled to bring compression up or used the 98 heads for the smaller chamber. when i heard they have the bigger ports basically a large chamber ls6 head i used them. as for the dyno dont know i just know other people who have gotten one of those optimistic numbers elsewhere didnt make as much here on this piticular one. so ive heard i guess track numbers will show if im making any power or not. im compleatly happy with the way it runs and feels on the street. more to follow...
