    E38/E67 VE Tuning Tool

May we please get an update on how close we are to getting a beta with the new VE tool ? (like the competitor's product that the user can update a traditional looking VE table and hpt will calculate the coefficients). I have an 08 Vette that needs some VE help, I think, and I would be happy to test out whatever you have. BTW, thrilled with the product so far. Much easier to use and up to date compared to what I had previously used on my LS1 camaro. Thanks, Dean

Dean, I didn't think the '06+'s had a VE table?

They don't, but we're working on a solution for that
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...

I would like to be on "the list" for the beta, if possible. I have an upcoming project vehicle that could use that loving.

And.... Bill, will the A/C settings work?

They calculate VE on the fly from polynomial equations. The calibration allows you to change the coefficients on the equations, but it is relatively non-intuitive on how to change anything but the constant term, and even then, changing the constant term makes the whole 'virtual' ve table discontinuous. (which may not be bad for small changes). See http://www.hptuners.com/forum/showth...ght=e38+tuning

Bill, do you know if this might be available for alpha/beta testing ?

Can you give a guess as to what we're looking at for some of us to beta it ? Roughly? 1wk, 1mo or longer ? Of course just your guess and nothing binding. I just want to know if I should hold off on trying out the math packages. Appreciate the help.

Thanks Bill. I take that to mean, at least, it aint gonna be here in a week.

While I have you, do you know anything about why E38/E67 calibrations have such non-sensical LTFT boundaries ? My 08 LS3 vette cal has rpm 3968, 8192, 8192 and map 124, 256, 256. If these are right, that is only one map range (<124) and two rpm ranges (< or > 3968). In practice, I see more than two cells being used, so ? That being said, I have cells 1 and 9 being used from 30mph flat cruise (~20-25 Kpa MAP) to WOT.... That makes it very hard for trims to settle down. I'm going to put realistic values in there, but what is really going on in the stock cal and do we have full control of the boundaries if the system is using more cells than the stock boundaries imply ?

Guess I'm thread hijacking my own thread...
