    Tools of the trade..HPT?

    Curious on what the pros use to map out GM's engine managment...

    Any good texts to check out on dissasembling?

    ETAS INCA, but good luck getting the proper support if you're not the OEM or contractor who owns the rights. The guys who reverse engineer code to make their own commercial software are a rare breed. In the aftermarket, I've found it MUCH easier to use a commercial package that's already on the market instead of even attempting to start from scratch. Disassembly is only one of many steps required.

    Greg,

    Unforetunetly, there isnt a large enough demand for my application to make it worth commercial interest.

    I have time, equipement, and myself. Not much, but hope is still there.

    in terms of disassembly, IDA Pro is the way to go. The main instruction sets in use for GM are CPU32 (a slight derivative of motorola's 68k) and Power PC.
