Exception Error w/ HPT v2.2.0

I have a laptop with a new hard drive that I've loaded the latest version of HPT on (v2.2.0). All looks well except when I go to enter in the App Key. I get an exception error only when the App Key is entered. I finally get a descent laptop to tune/log with, and I cannot get past this point. Can anyone assist with this?

What operating system?

Are you logged in as administrator?

Windows XP Home Edition is the OS, and the single user is the administrator. I thought that was pretty wierd, so I check the drive properties to find that the Read Only box was filled, not checked. That leads me to believe that not everything within the folders was read/write accessible.

Then I started wondering about the registry...oh boy.

BTW... I logged into Safe Mode to try under SA privs, and still received the same error msg. If I can get my hands on an adapter to Ghost my old IDE drive onto the new SATA drive, that will be easier. But, I did want to start with a FRESH install of XP instead of Ghosting. Let me know if anyone thinks of a potential solution.
