    Problem connecting to VCM 97 Cavalier automatic

    I can not get it to read my computer on my car.
    It is a 97 Cavalier 2.2L automatic.

    I just bought this car and was having some drivablilty issues with it.

    When I try to connect it says:

    "Unable to locat VCM.
    Verify cable is connected and the key is in the RUN position."

    I took it to autozone to get them to read the computer with there handheld and it had the same problem. I also took it to Advance Auto and again same problem.


    I am getting power to the OBD2 connector. Also All my fuses are good.

    Any suggestions?
    1998 z28 A4 mods are 347 forged shortblock, prc 5.3l stg2.5, long tubes 3'' moroso siralflow dumped, ms3 cam, PTM 90mm TB, Fast 90mm intake, Electric Water Pump.This is my bracket racing car.

    Sounds like there is no power to the ODB port.

    If you are 100% sure you are getting power, you may have a bad ground....
