    Magnaflow driving me nuts!

I had a Magnaflow 12588 dual in/single out put on my truck in place of the stock muffler that was all messed up inside. I have a new problem now:

    Resonance.

But only at about 1500 - 1800 rpm...basically right where overdrive labors the engine. From 2K on up it's quiet as stock.

So does anyone have any ideas for me? Any tips with resonators built in?

Transmission settings that inhibit lockup under 50mph? lol

Cut off two cylinders, or change to 4.56 gears... Just kidding!

Unfortunately 1500-1800 is where V8's drone and create resonance. And why the OEM's make such a quiet muffler there. They have chambers and such to cancel the resonance.

The MagnaFlow's are more of a straight through design so they resonate "a bit" more than stock because of that.

Sometimes just changing where the outlet (tips) point can help with resonance.

well, even though you were kidding, what you said is true.

And...as for changing the exit point or tip...It's already extreme.

I've gotten used to it in the time since I posted. That or it's denail. haha
