Can someone look at this tune and give me some suggestions. A local tuner did the the tune and it looks a little off. It's a 02' Camaro, Thunder Cam, AFR 225's 72cc, Lucas 42#, Hooker LT, Yank 3600, Fast 90/90............

Bump for some help..... Thanks dmoney for your help.
Anybody......
I had a quick look at this last night (late), and now I'm at work without
the program.
From a quick glance at the spark tables, it seemed the timing curve was
not typical for a 383 with those heads.
What are the cam specs?
Judging by the torque converter stall, and the engine combo I would expect
the peak tq to occur around 3500 - 4000 RPM. The timing curve doesn't
appear to optimized based on the configuration you list.
Do you happen to have a dyno graph?
What are your main concerns with the tune other than it doesn't appear
to be correct? Are you experiencing odd AFR values? Performance issues?

The cam specs are 232/238 595-605 112lsp and it is hard to get it idle also the second to third hits the revlimiter........... the heads are 64cc afrs. my friend is been helping me out I am just tring to get my car to run its best........... Thanks man I apprectiated.....
bump!!!!!
From a second glance, the timing doesn't seem too bad after-all.
If the engine is having trouble with idle, try adding a couple of degrees to
the table from 400 to 1200 RPM and observe the changes.
Performance tuning is something you should work on while you're at the
track. It will be difficult to assess how the motor will react to the changes
without having a proper load.
Without knowing the AFR, it's tough to say how much fuel to add/subtract.
Have you ever put a wide band on the engine while racing, or at least on the
dyno?

Well I ran the car this week and in the take off it bogged on me and from second to third it hit the revlimiter. About the idle sometimes it turns off and sometime it doesn't.
The wide band was put in the dyno...........
what sort of ratios did you see on the dyno?
I'll go through more of the files tonight and see if anything pops out for
correcting idle behaviour.

Idle has been a problem since I first put a cam into my car and right now it could be idling and all sudden it turns off. Man it really gets to me.
The ratio you mean how lean or rich the car is running.
If you do find something let me know it would be alot of help. Thanks
Yes, I mean what were the ratios under power vs. RPM, and the AFR during idle.
I don't see anything too out of place in the tune. I'm wondering if the camshaft
has been installed properly?
Did you dial in the proper intake centerline?
Maybe you can do a quick compression test and post up the cranking
pressure along with the pre-load setting. That will indicate whether the
cam timing is correct.

Also wondering yopu think by bogging off the line and hitting the rev limiter could be that the transmission is giving out...........
That I will let my friend answer you that one.........Originally Posted by Pur_SSyn
