    2.93 to 3.29 with 30tooth reluctor

Quick and probably easy one for you guys.

I had my trans rebuilt back and while with 3.29's. A 34 tooth reluctor and speedo recal was added at the time to ensure things worked 100%.

I changed the diff and put in a 30 tooth reluctor. Changed back the speedo recall to 0 and changed the drive sprocket ratio from 1.120 to 1.000. Speedo is on the money with GPS, shifts are harder than usual and TCC is locking and unlocking quickly.

Found a year old post where John F posted a screen shot of how he got it to work and am going to try it next. Since 3.29's use drive and driven of 35 tooth each, my sprocket ratio should be 1.000 right?

    Thanks..

You went about that question in such a way that I forgot what you were asking by the time you finished it up.

Basically, the relutor tooth change is used to avoid making changes in the PCM code, thats the bottom line... lol.

I remember reading that post now, i'll have to try changing the 3.29 value to 3.69, i can't figure out how the hell to get it to stop throwing that gear ratio code.

Latest info I've heard is that changing the gear info in the PCM required many other changes to ensure everything worked correctly. No one has been able to identify what this entire process is. So the common way is as Jerry mentioned, to just change a reluctor wheel that mechanically adjusts your ratio seen by the sensors to continue working normally. Although it does seem possible via the PCM, it's just still a mystery at moment. I was told 2.93 and 3.29 gears did come factory installed on some GTP/GTX/Comp G cars.

Under the speedo tab, type in tire height (same as it already is) and a gear ratio of 3.69 commit. It will manually scale all your tables and adjust everything else, don't touch the vss numbers or sprocket ratio numbers. If you had 3.69s you'd type in 4.11 commit.
