    SD tune for 98's

I haven't read much on it, but I have a guy asking about it and got me curious. He was told that you couldn't SD tune a 98 car. Is that true? And what about a FI car with a 3 bar map can they use it etc... Thanks.

Yes you can speed density tune any LS1 (Gen III) engine. The 98-2000's had two VE tables: The low res one is used when the MAF fails and the Hi Res one is used when the MAF is enabled.

You can go up to 2 bar speed density with the 98's. They just don't have the additional space for 3 bar.

I have a SD tune that EC TUNE did on my '98 Vette that has 591 RWHP and is FI.

My MAF tables would run out and SD is the only way to go!

    Thanks,Matt

Thanks that is what I needed to know. Why then on my 99 can I use the 3 bar map sensor if it was 98-2000? I know they changed the PCM in 99. Did they just expand on the tables or what.

99's use a completely different pcm
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...
