Raising shift limit on F150 Ford

I've been trying to do this time and time again with no luck. I set the 1-2 WOT shift to 5500rpm but it still changes at 4999rpm.... Any ideas on why this is happening?

Also looking at the spark control, the X-axis tables limits at 5000rpm..Could this be a factor to why the truck won't shift at what I set it as? I've even tried changing the X-axis to a higher number of 6000, but the table display won't change....

Please help, it seems the Ford software was put together very quickly

It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...

Try raising the WOT 1-2 shift speed (mph) by the % difference. The spark values at 5000 rpm are used at the higher rpm's.

oh nice one bill! see i was getting confused with why 4 tables had 5000 and 10 in them? I would've assumed it should have gone up in increments of 1000... but this seems to work nicely too, thanks for that!

Can you post a scan showing the issue please I know for the ford frame rate is pretty poor but I would like to see what rpm/mph its showing to see if I can figure out whats up.

Here's a pic of the upshift speed tables russ is referring to, in the meantime I'll see what info I can get on Ford shift strategies.

with the GM shift times, I normally 0 out the WOT shift speed and rely mainly on the WOT rpm shift speed... Ill try this out on the pick up once it's out the garage.. the trucks getting a breath of fresh air (cam, intake and dynatechs) so ill be back with some more questions

Yeah im not sure if Ford does it differently or not, I'll need to have our engineer look it over.

ive just tried the same way with GM but it wouldn't shift... when at wot it wouldn't rev higher then 3500rpms as if "spark control - TM" was kicking in...

I'm gonna log the truck at WOT and see what mph its shifting at then adjust according the way Russ said... this is going to be fun with the 6min write times

lol yeah tell me about it! plus the annoying door open chime constantly ringing in my ear... Fords are becoming a pain in the ass to tune, not like the fun of GMs trial and error tuning..

Adjust the MPH for the shifts..... Upshift speed shows 50 from 1-2.. Check and see where the RPMs follow and then readjust where you want them.

There are several items that need to be adjusted to get the speed of the shift at the RPM you want it to shift at.

When in doubt use the MPH function to get you close.

    Adjust your upshift time also.

Cheer Tony for the heads up... Is there a chance I can just change my higher MPH values and leave the rest as stock... Ive got the truck to shift at 5,700rpm now, the only problem is when at cruise it takes forever to shift from 1-2, 2-3..

Ill decrease the values and keep the higher TPS% values the same and see how it goes?
