Not 100% sure! Correct me if i'm wrong.

I did a very basic tune for my buddy, he was really just after better fuel milage. When he bought the truck (2002 1500 5.3L) the guy had put on 285/75/16 but never calibrated the computer. Now that he has driven his truck lots after i finished he was really impressed with the increase in milage. What i'm getting at is if your computer isn't calibrated right for the tire size does it also through off your odometer, i would asume yes, but not sure on that. There for his calculations would have been off, so by just changing that for him he would notice an increase! Just wanted to clear this up.

    Correct.
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...

I dont think he has recieved an actual "increase" in fuel mileage, it was just that the speedometer wa not reading the correct mileage, now that you recalibrated the ECM to the correct tire size it is now registering the correct mileage.

We had this issue for years on bikes until they made a calibration box that we could splice into our VSS sensor to correct for gearing changes.
