    Y Cable

I have a "Window Valet" that plugs into my OBD2 port. Whenever I want to use HP Tuners I have to unplug it. I am EXTREEMLY lazy; so what I want to do is be able to leave the Window Valet hooked up and still hook up HP Tuners.

I am wondering if it would be OK to use this Y cable

to have the Window Valet and HP Tuners working at the same time. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks.

I tried this with the Dashhawk. With both cable plugged in but the Dashhawk un-plugged I could not get HP to connect.

OK, I went ahead and ordered the Y cable and it works great.

The Window Valet works if the MPVI is hooked up or not and HP Tuners works if the Window Valet is hooked up or not.

I dont know if you saw this or not, but the same company that sells the Window Valet has this...eh theres not a direct link to it, but its the 2nd picture up from the bottom. It adds a 2nd OBD port so your stock one isnt always tied up. Im guessing that could have been your 2nd route if you hadnt gone with the Y.

And put a relay/switch on the orange (battery) line so you can leave HPT installed full time.

That is a great idea. I think it is time to do a little surgery on my new Y cable.

I have been wondering about this for awhile, so it is nice to find this thread.

So some of you have wired in second OBD-II ports in your vehicles? Any chance of some advice on this and/or pics?

    Thanks!

Check out the link in the fist post.

All I did was plug that into the OBD2 port and plug HP Tuners into one side and my window valet into the other. Could not have been easier.
