    3.8 F Body - Transmission tuning help

    I'm new to hp tuner.
(just received it 2 weeks ago).
    I have a 99 C5 MN6

I have to tune tomorrow a friend of mine with a 99 camaro 3.8 Auto (3.23 end ratio).

Has someone has a good oriented performance / safe transmission tune for me ?
I don't want to make mistakes and my friend is living 200 miles away!

There's just stock tunes in the repository (for transmission 3.8 v6)!

For information I'm french ... that explains my english mistakes..

well... ok thanx for your help guys...

    Here is my tune.

Have tune the VE Table too.

Interesting thing : the european bin are different from US one.
(193 hp in europe, 200 in usa).
    I've corrected the différences

You can see my transmission tune for my friends. What do you think about it ?

    Brice,

Try this trans tune, note that the performance tables are not used unless the vehicle has a performance/tow haul button on the gear shift.

I also disabled the EGR valve, COT, and returned the MAF Allowed Delta Airflow > Positive & Negative tables back to stock (I never
    have to change them).

What size rear tires are on the car? As the speedo tables don't look right.

Do you have a wideband O2 sensor?

    Big Thanx !!!!
"performance/tow haul button" ! very good tips!
That's why I can't feel change with my tune.
Yes he has change his tire size.

I'll see my friend next wenesday!

I've changed MAF Allowed Delta Airflow because the european car has different exhaust and are 193 hp rated vs 200 hp in the USA.
It's a different tune, so I've followed the origin usa tune!

About the EGR : it's really disable??? does he a need a block off plate or not????

I've read disable cot is dangerous for the cats, is it true?

    hoooooooooooo ........... TOO BAD!

    I've just phone my friend.
    He told me :
-'yesterday I've remove my resistor from my IAT sensor'
    -'YOUR WHAT??? A EBAY RESISTOR ??? fù*mù !!!'

From what I understood, tuning LTFT and STFT and based on the air volume ... and so the IAT sensor values.

    I've got really stupid friends...lol

I've to retuned the VE table !

    ...damn...

The Hot mode is when the transmission is overheated >129*C.

Like I said before, I never have to touch the MAF Allowed Delta Airflow > Positive & Negative tables.

Yes, the EGR is disabled, no you don't need a block off plate.

Never had any problems with the cats when disabling the COT. I've seen more problems with melted cats due to misfires & too rich of an AFR.

No need to tune the VE table on a V6 car, just tune the Maf table.
Read up on my open loop Maf tuning thread for more information.

just read your post : GREAT INFOS!

    The tires size is 235/40/18
    last question :

I've just recived a wideband (PLX), what's the simplest way to plug it to tune ?
I just want to plug it, tune, unplug it and put it definitively on my vette.

Is it possible to plug it on Jack stands? (I don't have access easily to ramps)
    Is it a 30 minutes installation / desintallation ?
So where run the 02 cable? (I don't want to desintall dash board, drill holes for the cable, just for a tune !!!).
On the dyno, it's easier because you don't have to run the car on the street and the cable can touch the ground without be destroyed.
You said you have tune a lot a V6, so I think there's a simple way!

Thanx again for your help !
