You need to be using the latest beta version to be able to tune the G8 since they've only been available to the public for about a month now, you can get this update by sending a vcm suite infolog to support at hptuners.com
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...

Yeah, and we responded this morning, you might want to check your email.

There is no need to send your cable back, its a software update you need which I've already emailed you the info.

I'm still learning the tuning software, haven't made any major changes. I've removed the speed limiter, and bumped up the idle 50 rpm(it was set too low from the factory, idles much smoother now.) I really want to get the tranny shifting firmer, and get rid of some of the torque management, But I cant seem to figure out how to reduce it, only get rid of it completely. The 4 speed autos seem to have these parameters(TM%), but it seems to be absent in the 6L80 software. I'm also going to throw in a 91 octane tune as well, once I learn more.

I just got my G8 last week and plan on tuning it, I just haven't had a chance hook it up yet. I will pull the info log one day this week so I can start playing with it.

I saw on another board that dealerships can now tell if you have flashed the PCM even if you put it back to stock before taking it in for warranty work. Is there any truth to this?

I've been playing with ours a little between other jobs. Would be nice to be able to improve the shift firmness and keep it from lifting off the throttle on the shifts.

What's the story with adjusting the torque management in the G8? I've already got the car but I don't want to shell out the cash for HPT until I know exactly what I'll be able to do with it on the car...

Scale the higher load force motor current tables to get a firmer shift. The last column to teh right should be close to 0's and make a few changes at a time to the rest or you will get way to hard of a shift.

We just got our G8 on Thursday.

Ported TB, custom CAI and muffler deletes are done. The car was way to quite.

Underdrive and tune set for this weekend!

    Does anyone make headers yet?

Yes, the dealer can see that you flashed the PCM. Either get a dealer who is not a jerk or buy another PCM to swap out if you take it in for a warranty repair. If your willing to tamper with a brand new car, be willing to pay the price if you get caught. If your tune took out the trans or damaged the engine then man up to the repair. If the engine or trans fails do to a hard part failure due to a manufacturing defect than you would be covered.

    Guys I just bought a 09 G8 GT 6.0L (L76)
I have a question. When making changes do you write entire or just a calibration wire on these cars?
    Thanks
