I want tcc to lock at a lower speed..nothing helps

I am tuning a buddies car..evrything is done except he wants the tcc to lock at a lower speed..
right now its locking in 4th at 40 mph....
he wants it to lock around 30-35
we tried changing the TCC apply/release speed vs tps table...
    and nothing changes it....
even tried setting it higher and lower.... but nothing changes no matter what we do.
    any advise is appreciated. thanks

It could be that the TCC needs more time to apply, considering his big stall. Post up the shift tables, TCC table and a possible scan. Or just send me the HPT file and I can take a look at it and possibly explain what is happening, if I can figure it out.

Post the apply/release table and be sure you're
not messing around where it makes no difference
(like the Performance table, which does nothing).
I am locking at 37MPH at lowest throttle.

our last attempt before seting it back to stock cause it didnt seem to make a difference was this

That table looks like it's commanding lock at 30 but
    on my 3.42s car I won't be in 4th until about 35MPH,
and that's grandma shifting. What is the 3-4 minimum
shiftpoint? Is the lockup maybe just whatever clears
that cycle? With the big converter you might not even
feel the 3-4 at low pedal because everything paddle-
    wheels along at 3000RPM?

Right. So I see the 3-4 upshift is 40, the converter
    won't do the 4th gear lockup until it's in 4th, I think
    is what the deal is.

I guess I misread that table, thought the 40.000 ... line
    was the 3-4.

Can you see in logs the TCC state and whether it's holding
off command to lock (TCC mode), or something is maybe
starving the TCC for juice so it just can't do the job? The
line pressure % at low throttle is marginal even for my
converter, maybe it just can't get the juice it needs to
grab? Is the PWM% minimum still stock?

    Scott,

Yup, as per my email ... if you could log the TCC mode, that should tells us more of what is going on.

I'm going to go do a dyno "spark advance" tuning with him today...I'll have him take me out and drive and log to see whats up...

also..we were able to lock the TCC with the PCM controls in every gear at every rpm....I even locked it in 4th taking off from a light on acident once....
so I know the tranny has tehguts to do it..LOL

Yeah, it probably is a converter/shift point conflict causing the TCC not to lock at lower speeds. That is where the logged TCC Mode will come into play and help us determine what is possibly going on. Good luck!
