    Disable TCC lockup what for?

Sorry if this question seems a bit simplistic, but what are the advantages of turning off the TCC lockup. I'm recently having my tranny rebuilt with a high stall TC and 3.23 gears. I've noticed this is a common issue in other posts. TIA for any replies.

Worse gas mileage is the only "advantage". The TCC is the lock up clutch and I highly recommend that you keep that enabled if you drive the car on the street. What some folks do is disable it in 3rd gear only. I have the TCC enable in 2nd, 3rd and 4th gears ... you have to know how to tune the TCC relative to the shift points to make it effective.

I found the locking/unlocking in 3rd annoying and decided
to turn it off rather than try to tailor it to the shiftpoints.
For me, 3rd ends at 38MPH (low pedal) the way I have it
set up, 3.42s; that means I'm in 4th anyway in 35MPH
    zones
