    MPVI not working

I'm looking for some help to figure out why my Interface is not working.
Bought it new just over a month ago.
None of the lights are lighting up, whether plugged into labtop or OBD2 port or both. I've already tried 3 different usb cables, still nothing.
The error message is "Unable to locate an available Com port
Make sure other programs are not currently using the Com port that the interface is plugged into"
I only have one usb plugged in from the interface.
Please, if you think you know what it is, chime in.

check for power at the obdII port.
on the trucks, the cigarette lighter fuse is shared with the port.

i have two cigarette lighters and both are working.
i think the problem is with the interface, as no lights when plugged to obd2 port or my labtop.

Yeah, you should have power via the USB direct from your laptop, weird. Have you checked your USB port on the laptop with anything else?

    Good luck.

Try hooking your interface to a different computers usb port, if the green power light on the interface illuminates its probably not an issue with the interface itself & rather with your com port or its settings.
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...

I hooked up a printer via same usb and it's good. Hooked the interface to another labtop and nothing. Also, when plugged just from the obd2 port still no lights. So in essence, everything links to the interface just not working.
No lights when hooked up to two different labtops but other devices work, No lights from OBD2 port. Everything worked fine for a few days and I did nothing different when it stopped working. Just stopped while I was scanning.

update: interface sent to hptuner, they inspected and found an overcurrent problem. they advised it could have been an inverter that caused the problem. i did have my inverter plugged in powering my labtop, but wasn't aware something like this could happen. i'm now waiting on the repairs and for them to ship it back.

I get the green light on the MPVI, but get the COM Port error message.
I tried all 3 ways to extract the license info..
With the OBD-2 cable hooked up to my car, I still get the
    No Open Com Ports error..
Unable to locate an available COM Port..

My computer guy said Visa OS does not use COM Parts..

    Please help!

    OK look..

I've just spent 6 hrs trying to get this straight.

    I was sent version 2.2.0
You said I need to download 2.2.2 off the site..
    Did that..

Then you said to download drivers from the link..
    Did that..

    Not working..
I am unable to install the license.

Not able to see a zip file for the drivers.

    They download already extracted..

I just had Nick Yoskin over here for 3 hrs & he couldn't get it to work..
He has HP tuners for yrs now..

    Can SOMEONE please call me..
Telling me what to do & showing me what to do via email is USELESS.
    Posting is useless..

Not sure how 2 computer savvy guys can't get this, but I am getting really pissed off at this point..

    What do I do>?
    Where do I go?

The seller said I have the new hardware, but not the right software.
No matter what I've done I've never been prompted that the MPVI interface is recognized.. Green light is on..

Anyone in the Phila suburbs want to take a crack at thi$..

I'm running VISTA and haven't had any issues. Have you gotten this working yet?
    I'm south of Baltimore.

    Yes, I'm up now..
My computer guy had to manually install the drivers..
For some reason, they were getting unzipped, extracted, but not getting installed..
