Help!! Need to change lockup settings!

    Hi guys

I want to change my lockup settings. (I have TCI 3000 and 2.73 gears)

In third I want the car to lockup at speeds above 44mph

In fourth I want lockup to happen at speeds above 62mph

How should I modify the lockup tables to achieve this?

(TCC apply/release vs TPS vs gear)

I have also thought about turning lockup off altogether in third. Would that cause excessive tranny heat?

Finally are there any bad effects of increasing the max line pressure value to 95%?

With those desired setting 44 in 3rd, 62 in 4th, you TCC will lock up in 3rd at 44 and unlock when it shifts into 4th, then lock up again at 62. I highly advise against this. Instead, figure out where (TPS%) you want 4th to lock up at 62 ... then set the 3rd gear lock up cells one MPH higher than 4th. You could also do away with 3rd gear TCC lock up, it won't cause excessive heat. At least not more so than if the settings were left OEM. If you use 3rd gear alot (placing the selector in 3rd), then it can be a problem.

Here is a screenshot of my 2001 Camaro SS tables:

    ahh thanks

Around town I drive in "D" and not OD.

Maybe I'll remove lockup from third and monitor trans temps and leave fourth lockup alone for now.

I typically shift to fourth gear manually when I am on the highway. ie: merge in third and then put the selector in OD when I am over 60mph.

    Thoughts?

    Reprogrammed today

    Here is what I did:

    1) I put back in trans upshift TM (Stock values and then multiplied by 50%)

    2) Left Engine TM off

    3) Went back to stock force motor current table

    4) Went back to stock base pressure table but then added 10% across the board

    5) Shortened the part throttle shift adaptation times.

    6) Turned off locked altogether in third and moved up fourth gear lockup/unlock by 10mph across the board

Feels WAY better and the trans should live a bit longer now with trans TM back in place.
