    Torque Managment ?s

Hey guys I was just playing around with my HP Tuners software finally and wanted to see what kind of difference disabling TM would make. All I can say is WOW! I mean what a difference at WOT! I was just wondering how many of you all run with TM disabled at all times and how many passes you have made? Also have you seen any ET improvment by getting rid of TM? Thanks

Yes. Over 100 passes. Still going strong. I rebuilt my A4 at 3000kms though just as a safety measure. TM costs time in the QTR - fact.

Just remember that the trans is -rated- at like
600lb-ft and you can shock it well harder than
that with any kind of built motor and higher
STR converter, let alone power-hopping it.

Factor in whatever opinion you have of GM
    ratings.

I scaled TM way back on the blown Silverado
the other week. This week the guy had a kick-
ass pass at the track (107MPH in a 6000lb
truck ain't bad, beat a supercharged 'stang)
then blew the tranny 2nd gear on the next pull.

But the tranny already had some problems, on
a double rebuild and flaring badly etc. So, uhh...

On the other hand I rode around for a year+
with TM zeroed in my low-mods SS. But I was
not thrashing it very hard nor between 4 AWD
drag radials rolling 3 tons of weight and a
    5-6PSI H/C 6-liter motor neither.

Deleting TM will enable you to beat the hardware
as severely as the engine is able. That may be
entertaining. Whether it's a long term success
strategy depends on said hardware, and the
    frequency and severity of beating.
