I am going to be picking up a 1983 GMC pickup in the next few weeks, which I'm planning on redoing. Regular cab, automatic, with the inline-6. Needs a little work, but for $300, I figured it would be a good base to start from. I am planning on doing the exterior and interior before I touch anything with the engine/transmission. So, I'll be taking that time to look at the different options for it.

Originally, I just wanted to take one of the LS engines and drop it in, but I found something that looks to be a little more interesting to put in.

Just a LS3, with an aggressive cam and carbureted intake. I also saw another version, which is a carbureted LS2 (can't remember from the listing if there were any other changes).

I wanted to know if anyone has any experience with either of these two engines. I'm looking for a somewhat easy install. Isn't going to be a truck used every day. Maybe a dozen times a year.

Thanks in advance for any help.
