Question Upgrade or just a license for V1.0

Ok, I've read and searched and my eyes have watered over....

Yeah, I know it's old but I bought a V1.0 serial cable and Suite (V1.2.1) from a friend. It's currently licensed for an 98 LS1 Vette.

I want to license it for my 2004 GTO.

I installed the software and it finds the cable, I can read the VCM ID and it says I don't have a license (expected).

    1. What is my next step to license it for my 2004 GTO?

    2. The editor also gives an error when I load it and never comes up. I tried it on three different PCs.

    Ok, what do I do!

    1. Login to your customer login page & click the order upgrades link to upgrade your hardware or to add licenses to your current hardware.

    2. What error? a Screenshot or some info on what error you are receiving would help. However if you are running version 1.2 of our software its probably too old to know what type of vehicle file it is so you'll probably need to update to the newest software version 2.22 which can be found on your customer login page.

    Thanks for the fast reply:

Since I bought it from a friend, I don't have a customer login do I?

The error is the usual Windows:

"VCM Editor has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

Your interface definitely has a customer login page, if you send support an email with a vcm suite infolog and a link to this thread I can get you setup.

    Question

Can you be a tad more detailed? Where do I get the infolog? Which application? Editor (can't get into it), Flash? Scanner? I haven't run HPT before so I don't know all of the buzzwords.

    Thanks!

I forgot to connect the cable and get the info. I sent it in a second support email.
