Erase VCM Failed - Error 8A *update, solved

I can read and scan the VCM on my 04 colorado just fine, but when trying to flash a new tune I can't get past the Erase VCM stage. Any tips?

Please post a vcm suite infolog with your serial number & app key erased, or simply contact support with this infolog and a link to this thread.

    bump!

I need to redo my shift tables, the tranny isn't shifting at full throttle. I still can't get past this screen. I've written a number of tunes to the vcm and never had any problems, the last one being a few months ago. This is new all of the sudden and won't go away. I can still read the vcm and my most recent is attached. Thanks in advace.

Can you post a screenshot of the error please. Also has anything changed on the truck since the last time you successfully flashed it? New radio maybe?

    Thanks,
    Bill

battery's relocated, but I don't think I'm losing voltage. would a bad ground cause it to go out? it's like the pcm isn't responding.

actually it's failing to download the boot loader after requesting high speed mode. it takes a few tries before I get past that stage and then it fails to erase the vcm. I'll get some screens posted though.

bootloader issues are almost always related to a battery issue of some sort. I would tend to thing that might be the cause for all of your issues.

I've finally figured out a fix to this problem. I have a Dakota Digital air ride system on my truck which needs to be diconnected in order for me to rewrite the VCM. Not sure why this would be neccessary, but it solved my problem. well at least one of em.
