Changing Shift Point?

Got HPTuners and like it a lot. Great software, fairly easy to get used to even for me. I am all new to the tuning part of things. Here’s what I have run into now…

I have a 2002 Camaro Z28. Main mods are TCI ST3500 Convertor, Transgo Shift Kit, 3.73’s, Hooker LT’s, SLP Cold Air Kit, SLP MAF, and BBK Throttle Body. The rest are suspension mods and its all stock internal. Only thing I have changed with HPTuners so far is the idle, I raised it by 75 rpms across the table to help it idle after the convertor swap, and I upped the rev limiter from 6200 to 6225.

Then I changed the gear ratio to set the speedo. Speedo is set perfect now, but since I changed the gear ratio from 3.23 to 3.73 it now bumps the rev limiter on the 2-3 and 3-4 shift at WOT at the track. When I flashed it back to stock 3.23 gears it works fine, no rev bump. What would be a good base to start working from when changing the shift points? Do it by RPM's or MPH? Make same amount of changes across the table or edit for each shift point? Just looking for some suggestions before I start playing again. Thanks for the help & suggestions.

As a starting point you would want to scale all
of your WOT MPH points by 0.86 to correct for
the gear change. Then tweak from there if you
have added any more RPM range etc.

On my 3.23 car w/ 3000 stall I have shiftpoints
of 41, 81, 125 MPH which would scale to 35,
69, 107MPH (but other things at play include
car weight, converter, HP and shift time settings -
all things that might add or subtract the "windage"
needed to ensure you get your business done
before the RPM runup can hit the limiter.
