    Why cant tune a 97 4.3?

My cousin has a 97 s10 4.3 and I am planning on getting hptuners in the next couple months and noticed that his cant be tuned with it. I just wondered why. Its a vortec like my truck and the pcm looks the same except he has a round plug going into the center of his pcm along with the 4 flat plugs. It would be cool to be able to tune his since Ill have the system for mine.

    BTW I have a 2000 Sonoma 4.3 4l60E

Because it doesn't use the same pcm as anything we currently support. While it may look similar on the outside the internals are probably very different.
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...

Have you ever herd of anyone swapping out the 97 PCM with a 98 up?...I know it would probably have to be rewired but with the right diagrams and some patience i dont see why it wouldn't work1

As an example, doing so in a W-body with the 3800 would render certain pieces of the dash non functional in some cars due to the change in the data bus. A complete change over could involve as much as replacing dash and other vehicle items to get everything compatable.
