    Shift Delay

Looking at logged data, there is usually a delay between when the PCM requests the transmission shift, and when the transmission actually shifts. This was expected.

Does anyone know if there is a delay between when the PCM requests the Torque Converter to lock or release, and when it is actually does it?

(If it makes any difference, this is for a '99 LS1 Commdore with a 4L60-E.)

    Re: Shift Delay

I believe there is a "feathered apply" or a
ramping of apply pressure for smoothness.
But not as much mechanical delay in just
commanding a solenoid valve for one clutch,
as in cycling gears w/ disengage, engage
(and possibly TCC unlock) each allotted
some chunk of time. You can reduce the
adaptation times for faster, harder shifts.
