    maxing out the table....

    alright, helped a buddy try and sort out a problem with his car. still had stock 2.73 gearing in the program but had put in 4.10's.

    when i put in the 4.10's and the stock 26" tire, it came up with a "MAX trans scalar" error i think it was and readjusted down to a 25.7" tire. What causes this and what can i do to fix it? it's in an automatic.

    Sorry, missed this one...

    What were your Engine PPM, Trans Scalar and Input PPM before the change?

    And what is the OS ID?

    OS ID = 9381344

    Engine PPM = 44253
    Trans Scalar = 36.8799
    Input = 7812

    That was what was listed when the stock 2.73 gearing was listed in the "previous" box and i input the 26" previous tire. then put the 4.10's and stock 26" tire give it the max engine PPM error and it adjusts to a 25.7 height. and then these values:

    engine ppm = 65535
    trans scalar = 55.2607
    input = 7812

    yeah your engine PPM is maxing out (it's trying to set to 66460, but the max is 65535), thats why the error.

    the result is that your trans should still shift at the right MPH but your cluster will be out by about 1%.

    Please email your binary to us at [email protected] and we'll see if there is any possible workaround to this issue.

    I'm a little dumb about this, so what exactly do you need me to email you?

    Also, the friend's trans is a bit messed up. just not working correctly

    it picks and chooses whether it wants to actually engage when it shifts to 2 or 3 and never really catches in 4th.

    and about the .bin, i feel like a moron. i shoulda known that one haha i'll be emailing you the original tune that i saved. NOT the one after i changed the gearing. that way you can input the gearing and see exactly what it does.

    Re: maxing out the table....

    got it, thanks.

    I also received an email from someone else, saying that other programs have a similar issue and according to them it can't be fixed. Nevertheless, i'll see if anything can be done...

    65535 (or 65536) may be a GM hard limit. Maybe your
    bud needs to go up a step in tire size just to make the
    bits happy. :P

    Re: maxing out the table....

    0xFFFF (65535) is the limit. Again, this only affects the speedo calibration, not the trans shifting. I doubt you will be able to change this without recalibrating the cluster itself.
