Usually a battery issue of some sort but we've also seen some aftermarket equipment such as air ride systems, etc. cause the same issue. It really has nothing to do with the software, the software is just protecting you from frying your pcm.
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...

try pulling your radio fuse. I remember reading that some people needed to do that in order to tune. Make sure that everything is off/unplugged because any kind of drain on battery power will give you problems.

Yeah i forgot about that, some had reported that they needed to pull the factory radio fuse to do reads & writes on some of the I5 vehicles, I tuned a couple without this issue so it didn't come to mind.

Yeah bootloader timeout issues are basically a communication issue between our software & the pcm, the usual culprit is the battery but as you can see it can be an oddball aftermarket product that we'll rarely ever encounter.

Is the Stray/Accessory power source applying too much power, grounding out, overloading the circuit? What is the cause for this malfunction?

    Thanks Man!

FYI I did Figure it out. If you pull the Radio Fuse, you will see the Lock Icon on the Dash go away, and Bingo! Tuning Days are Here again!
