It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...

2008 Saab 2.8 280hp TurboX AWD Checksum error

    Bill,

I just sent a customer's 2008 Saab 2.8 file to support to look at. He has tried to read it several times and got the same checksum error each time. He was not presented with an option to fix the file, just to contact support if the error continued.

I have tuned 2006 and 2007 2.8 Saabs successfully; this is the first 2008 Turbo-X variant however. Perhaps there is something different with this OS.

    Thanks,
    VTuner

Yeah im going to have our head engineer look over the file and have also requested some info from the customer regarding the pcm & such. Hopefully we can figure out why its not reading the file out properly.

I think the AWD system has a lot to do with the pcm being different, the haldex system must use some things in the pcm to work, I would suspect that they might have even used a differnt pcm.

I have examined the VCM in my vehicle, as well as the one in my mother's FWD 2008 Aero.

Many of the numbers are the same, and in particular, the Service number.

I'm not a programmer or technician, so I don't really know much more than that.

Looks like it should be something we can fix without too much effort.

Should know more in the next few days, do you have pics of the TCM? If its a supported TCM it shouldn't be too difficult to add support, however if its an unsupported TCM there won't be any options available.
